Hotel Name: Hotel Seebichl
Location: Seebichlweg 37 6370, Kitzbühel, Austria
Type: Family operated
- Location: 4/6
The hotel was located just outside of the main part of Kitzbühel, but they had their own shuttle bus to take you to the main ski lift in the morning and pick you up in the afternoon. If you wanted some extra after-ski time, a taxi was around €8. Pretty much every window had a view of the mountains and it was a really pretty setting. The lake was frozen during Winter, but in Summer you can swim in it.
- Staff: 5/6
You could tell this was a family run hotel. Everyone was warm and inviting and made sure we were looked after.
- Price: 4/6
Kitzbühel during the peak ski season will always be expensive, but as this was just on the edge of town, it was a bit more affordable without having to be in another town completely. We paid €150 a night, which included parking and breakfast. The hotel also had free wi-fi.
- Room: 4/6
If you like pine and red, this is the style for you! We had a queen bed in a spacious room with a shared balcony and a great view of the mountains. The bathroom was a decent size and had a bath to soak in after a day on the slopes. A nice touch was the hand-written personalised greeting with some Milka chocolates and apples.
- Design: 3/6
Typical alpine-style, with wood, soft textiles and a few hunting trophies on the walls. Overall the hotel has a cozy, homely feel.
- On Site: 4/6
The a-la-carte restaurant featured Tyroleon-regional dishes that were pretty tasty. Breakfast was buffet-style. We didn’t use all of the facilities, but there was a sauna and a terrace that you could relax on. They have bikes that can rent for free – something that I imagine is best done in the summer time.
